Sometimes a single photo can hold more than just a smile, it can carry a journey. This is one of those photos. Taken on a day I felt confident, connected, and deeply proud of how far I’ve come. It’s not just a selfie. It’s a snapshot of a dream becoming real!
Today, my heart is overflowing with gratitude and happiness. This photo captures not just my smile, but the essence of my journey; a journey that began in Kenya and blossomed in the United States. This image is more than just a picture; it’s a reflection of my roots, my dreams, and the incredible path that led me here.
Growing up in Kenya, I was immersed in a world of vibrant colors, rich traditions, and the artistry of my culture. My parents, who started our family retail business in 1986, instilled in me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and entrepreneurship.
When I moved to the United States, I carried with me not just memories, but a vision, to bridge the gap between Kenyan artisans and the global market. That’s how Kenya Meets USA was born: a platform to showcase the incredible talent of Kenyan craftsmen and women, and to share our culture’s beauty with the world.
The photo I’m sharing today is special. It encapsulates the joy of seeing a dream realized, the pride of honoring my heritage, and the excitement of what’s yet to come. Every piece we offer at Kenya Meets USA tells a story, and this image tells mine, a story of resilience, passion, and cultural fusion.
Thank you for being a part of this adventure. Your support means the world to me and I can’t wait to share more moments, stories, and creations with you.
With love and gratitude,
Rachel Muchiri
