Where are Kenya Meets USA products made?

All of our products are handmade with love in Kenya, Africa and shipped to the USA. Kenya is in the Eastern part of the African Continent and all our products are from one country.

Who makes Kenya Meets USA products?

We are a family-owned business therefore each family member makes specific products. We also work in collaboration with several local Kenyan artisans.

What materials are used to make Kenya Meets USA products?

We use materials available in Kenya. All materials are natural and locally sourced. For instance, for banana fiber products we use the bark to make products hence making use of everything and nothing goes to waste. Banana bark is considered agricultural waste and is burnt after harvest. Instead of disposing it we wash and dry it for use in making Kenya Meets USA products. We also use plant-based dyes that are organic and natural.

Are any animals harmed in making Kenya Meets USA products?

Not at all. No animals are harmed or tortured in order to make Kenya Meets USA products. Rather, we utilize the by-products such as horn and bone for further processing as they would have otherwise been discarded since the animals have already been processed for other purposes.

Do Kenya Meets USA products represent/stand for/mean a specific thing?

All our products are purely decorative pieces of arts and crafts with no representation or meaning attached to a particular thing.

When will I receive my order?

Once your order is successfully submitted, it is then picked, packed and dispatched. Once it is on its way to you, you will receive an email containing your tracking information, along with an estimated delivery date from USPS. Please note that the standard delivery time of 3-7 business days are estimates and may vary depending on circumstances like distance, local holidays and any other external factor outside of Kenya Meets USA and courier’s control. Packages are not shipped nor delivered on weekends and local public holidays. We aim to ensure that you receive your order as soon as possible. We acknowledge that the unforeseeable is inevitable, and we request for your utmost patience and understanding. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your order status. Alternatively, if you already have a tracking number, please feel free to check the status via the USPS website. We do our best to meet the shipping estimates but cannot guarantee them. Please note that actual delivery time will depend on the shipping method used during checkout.

What if I don't receive my order?

Within 1-2 working days you will receive your tracking number via email. If you have not received your tracking number yet, please contact us: info@kenyameetsusa.com and we will look into it immediately.

If you already have a tracking number, we urge you to contact your local USPS office as USPS will have more accurate information regarding your order.

Kenya Meets USA is not responsible for any lost or stolen packages. We will provide you with tracking information for your package via email once your order is processed and shipped. If in a rare event your package is lost or stolen please contact USPS at (1-800-ASK-USPS)

Can I make changes to an order I already placed?

  1. If you would like to make a change to an order you already placed, you must inform us through info@kenyameetsusa.com within 24 hours of placing the order. Please note that not all order alteration/cancellation requests are honored. The sooner you contact us, the greater the likelihood of making the change. 
    The following can be honored provided you put the request in soon enough after the order was placed (through email: info@kenyameetsusa.com
  • Cancelling the order
  • Downgrading/upgrading the shipment method
  • Adding items to the order
  • Removing items from the order
  • Exchanging items in the order with products of same/ higher value (if the exchange applies to a product with a higher value than the one in order already, cost of the higher value product must be added to final cost)
  • Updating the shipment address (within the same country)

However, there are several aspects of your order which cannot be adjusted after the order has been placed;

  • Upgrading the shipment method
  • Updating the billing address
  • Changing the payment method
  • Updating the shipping address to that of another country. 

What is the return policy?

I have received the wrong size/product. What do I do?

As the adage goes human is to error. If the package arrives damage or opened, kindly take pictures and/or contact us immediately with specific details of the corresponding package. Upon our investigation, we will contact you to resolve the issue in the best way humanly possible. You can either return the product to us, exchange it or receive a proposal to keep the wrong item at a discounted rate. The discretion is solely on you as the buyer and there is no coercion. Please note that we are just offering solutions but not making a decision for you. Let us know your choice and we will process it accordingly.

If you receive an incorrect product and do not inform us within seven (7) days of receipt thereof, we will consider this an act of acceptance of the received product. We expect the customer to return the unintentionally received products within seven (7) days after receipt of the return label.

Keeping a product which is rather property of Kenya Meets USA without permission despite the fact that you have mistakenly received it, is embezzlement. Please note that the same process applies to the wrong size of a product received.
